Asus has unveiled the Zephyrus S GX531 – a new gaming rig from the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand, which the company dubbed as the “world’s slimmest” gaming notebook. At its thinnest part, the gaming machine boasts a thickness of only 14.95mm, just as thick as a typical yoga mat!
Despite its very thin frame, the Zephyrus S GX531 is equipped with impressive internals that are well-suited for mobile gamers – Intel’s top-of-the-line Core i7-8750 CPU and NVIDIA GTX 1060. The graphics card will allow you to play triple-A titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at 1080p resolution with playable framerates. Apart from that, it also has an 8GB of RAM which can further be expanded to 16GB. As for the storage, this Asus gaming laptop uses a 512GB SSD.
When it comes to the display, this Asus gaming notebook sports a 15.6-inch display with a full-HD resolution and IPS panel. What’s more, it offers a decent gaming response time of 3ms and a high refresh rate of 144Hz, so you can expect little to no lag or stuttering.
The GX531’s chassis is composed of top-quality magnesium and aluminum alloys, with the lid being entirely made out of aluminum. On top of that, it meets military-grade durability standards, as it can withstand jolts and vibrations, thanks to ASUS’ cutting-edge manufacturing process.
The Zephyrus S GX531 utilizes ASUS’ AAS (Active Aerodynamic System) – an impressive cooling technology that helps lower the temperature of air that flows into the notebook’s fans. It works by drawing in more air into the chassis when the gaming rig is in use. Other notable features you can look forward to include custom lighting effects via Aura Sync, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, the latest 802.11ac Wave 2 WiFi, and one HDMI 2.0 port, amongst others.
The Asus Zephyrus S GX531 will hit ROG stores in the Philippines on October 2018. Its price is yet to be announced.
